One of the healthiest products that I often have on my table is White Mountain Bulgarian Yogurt. There are many other yogurt brands on the market, but the reason why this particular brand is my absolute favorite is pretty simple: this organic product does not have any thickeners, stabilizers, preservatives or additives of any kind. It is also gluten free and made of just two simple ingredients :organic milk and live culture.
I also like a lot that it comes in a glass jar-I prefer to avoid plastic packaging-and in two sizes : pint and quart. There are two kinds of Bulgarian Yogurt you can choose from: regular ( marked by red labels) and non-fat (marked by blue labels). You can buy White Mountain Yogurt nowadays in many supermarkets.
I prefer regular red label Bulgarian Yogurt and usually buy it in a smaller pint size ,which is more practical to use (I do not like when the jar sits open in the fridge for some time). I eat my Bulgarian Yogurt often in the morning as a breakfast meal, but you can also use this product as an ingredient to more complex dishes. For example, you can eat it with fruits and organic honey, you can add it to your salads as a dressing ,you can add a few spoons of yogurt to your favorite pancake mixture recipe ,or you can add it to your meat dumplings dish together with little bit of white wine vinegar as a dressing Eastern European style. You can easily come up with many more great recipes !
Consuming yogurt on daily basis may reduce the risk of osteoporosis, as many doctors claim. They also say that yogurt is much easier for your digestive system than regular milk. Adding Bulgarian yogurt to your diet can help you maintaining healthy weight. It is also very tasty and healthy low-sugar choice of food.
